How do you have a fabulous birthday party when you are just three years old? You have a Tea Party including all your favorite people and this fun and whimsical tea-pot shaped cake!
This turned out super CUTE and that was the idea! I personally love how the cupcakes turned out - and the silicone cupcake 'tea cups' were perfect! Now that I've made one of these tea-pot cakes - I'd love to try it again with a more sophisticated design - roses and ivy perhaps?
Cucumber sandwich anyone?

Sweet Sixteen with a Sweet Rainbowdash MLP cake!
My daughter's 16th birthday came and went and with it a super cute MLP (My Little Pony) themed birthday bash.
Her favorite MLP is Rainbow Dash - thus I came up with this Rainbow Dash cake. I've been wanting to try this sprinkles technique that I saw on Pinterest - and I'm glad I did - so easy and CUTE. Everything else is made with my homemade fondant - including Rainbow Dash herself. I also tried a new home-made funfetti recipe that turned out great.
I'm pretty pleased with this one - it was exactly what she asked for and it was a big hit at the party! I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Awards Night Cakes!
As much as I love doing cakes - my one true love is the theater. So whenever I'm not on here for more than a week or two - it's a good bet it's because I've been busy with some kind of theatrical endeavour.
One of the companies that I have done quite a few shows with in the past contacted me to come up with some themed cakes for their annual awards show. What a fun way to bring my two loves together!
These cakes were 'inspired' by a seasons worth of shows and I used the posters for each show as a reference. Most of these photos were taken on my kitchen table - but there are a few snapped in the theater before the event - and you may be able to see some of my inspiration hanging on the wall behind the cakes - see if you can find them!

Christmas OWL cake
I did several cakes this December - including THREE cakes for my annual Christmas Eve Party. Sadly, I was so busy with the party - that I FORGOT to take any pictures of my cakes! Seriously, not even one :(
What a bummer! I did, however, get pictures of this OWL themed Christmas cake. I did this cake for a seniors Luncheon - they go by O.W.L.S - older, wiser, learning, seniors. Cute, huh?
This is what I came up with. I had a lot of fun making this cake - I love the way the tree branches turned out and I had an absolute blast coming up with my owls. Enjoy!

Sweet sixteen Minnie Cake!
Sweet sixteen! Here's a cake I came up with for a sweet sixteen birthday party. The lady of the day is a fan of this little mouse and wanted a great cake to help celebrate her day.
Like most of my cakes - everything on this cake is edible! It would be easier (and less time consuming) to use prop pieces for some of the trickier bits - like the ears but I think it's important and more FUN for the whole cake be edible!
What do you think?
