Autumn Cake

Apples and pumpkins and gourds - oh my!  I LOVE, love fall - its such a colorful and refreshing time of year.

A lady from church called and wanted a cake for a friendly fall get together.  This cake is Chocolate, with chocolate buttercream, chocolate Ganache filling and chocolate fondant!  Perfect for a fall morning coffee with friends!

All the decorations on this cake are edible - and made by me!  I love how this turned out :)

Peacock cake

One of my best friends in world was graduating from her degree program this week - and I just had to make her this!

It's one of her favorite animals and just like her - colorful, striking and singularly unique! Love you friend and hope you all love this cake!!

Baby Shower Cake!

Whew - its been a couple weeks since I've updated my blog!  I actually did a big cupcake order for a friend but FORGOT to take photos of the cupcakes - lol.

But not to worry I have LOTS of pictures of this one :)

I did this cake for my neighbor.  One of her family members is having a baby so she asked if I could do this great cake for the shower.

Thank you Youtube for giving me the tip to stuff my 3-D fondant figures with tissue overnight so retain the shape :)  I was able to get the cap and the baby shoe done this way and I love how they turned out! Whaddya' you think?

Campfire Cake with Sugar FLAMES

This cake was a challenge in a whole new way - Sugar Flames!! It took a few tries to get it the way I wanted but I love how this turned out.  Its more rustic than some of my recent cakes but it was fun to figure out how to recreate the coals, logs and flames all out of edibles.

Oh, and I have to admit toasting marshmallows over your ceramic stove-top while ignoring the incredulous looks being sent your way by your hubby is almost as fun toasting them over an open fire :)

Watering Can Cake

I got a call last week from someone who works with my husband.  He wanted a 'thoughtfully themed' cake for his wife on their 10th anniversary.

This was a RUSH job and I was nervous about doing this cake justice.  I think however that it turned out really well - charming is the word that comes to mind :)  Hope you agree!
